Coming Autumn 2012

The publishing date for the Level Up book has now been postponed to Autumn 2012 to allow more time for contributions to be finished, as well as to include a few new additions.  There's a fantastic list of contributors so far, and we look forward to seeing this grow. Regular updates about the writers and the project will be posted on the website (http://www.levelupbook.net) closer to the date.

Level Up will include original articles written by people in the video game industry, covering a variety of topics from motion capture to soundtracks and from script writing to art direction. It will contain guides to the industry as well as detailed accounts of working behind the scenes of some of the most popular games.

This is a non-for-profit publication and all money generated from the Level Up book goes directly to the Child's Play Charity (www.childsplaycharity.org). The book will retail for approximately $25 and further pricing and availability details will be posted on the Level Up website later on this year.

Child's Play is a charity that helps children who are in hospital for long period of time, providing entertainment such as books, DVDs and CDs as well as games and games consoles.  It was created by the founders of Penny Arcade in 2003 and has raised over $12 million to date.
